It was sudden and unexpected. None of us were prepared for it. But then, all things shall inevitably come to an end. That’s precisely what happened to Duday, our dog, our pet who had been with us for years. She succumbed to a mysterious illness we don’t know where she contracted from. She was 9 years old.
Some often view the death of a pet to be of no consequence or importance — particularly by those who are no pet lovers. Honestly speaking, I’m not much of a pet lover myself and most of the time I only attend to our dogs when I feel like it. In fact, I even play pranks on them on some occasions. But when I received the news last Tuesday evening after coming home from work, I was shocked and felt weak. Tatay said that Duday had waited for him before she passed away. It was sad. Duday had become an integral part of our lives. We valued her as a companion, a trusted ally and an intelligent pet. She was like, as one may say, a family member.
We buried her at our yard on that very night. We dig a decent hole two feet beneath the ground for her tomb, taking us almost two hours before we got the depth. It was tiring, but for a family’s pet who died, its the least and the very last sacrifice you could do.
Goodbye, Duday. Thanks for the memories. We’ll miss you...

My dog died when he was 15 years old, and I was 16 back then so I/we had him like forever. :(
Maybe Duday and Spike (our dog) are now in heaven.
YOU ARE DEAD. :P
our dog's name is duday too. wow.
why is parting so difficult?
Ahhh, that's sad! Mine are both getting up there in years, too!
I've always had big dogs, and one, a St. Bernard used to love going out in our boat with us. She died in the back of the boat on one of our evening 'cocktail' cruises. I assume, for her, it was a wonderful place to die. For us it was a bit more challenging....
ito ba ung aso mo na namatay yung mga tuta? baka she had problems with her last "pregnancy." sad!
nagkaroon din ako ng aso na sobrang tagal sa amin. i think he was about 13 years old (maybe older) when he died.
Aww hello and thanks for dropping in to say hello to me. Its sad when a pet dies,I am not a big pet person so to speak but all animals are precious lives and when one dies its sad and particularly if you have grown to love them for their individual characters just like our human loved ones.
Hugs June x
Ps, in answer to your question ... I am 48 years old and have four grandsons between 2 and 6 years old :))
ohh.. it's so sad pets have to die. but i guess that's the nature of life... i hope my pet dog won't die as well. he's 4 years old now. and i'd want to keep for 4 decades more. a senior citizen dog? hehe.. i'm sorry your pet died, just get another one.
